Band Council Meeting

Present:  Kim, Colin, Drew, Amelia, Daniel, Tim, Natalie, Matt, Antonia, Susan, Jenna, Melanie, Katie, Amy, Cleo, Mr. Budge, Ryan, Annie, Charlie

Committee Reports:

Historian:

  • Will take old pictures down and put new ones up at lunch on Friday at Lunch with the Decorations committee

Snacks:

  • Well-stocked, haven’t had Pep Band for a while

Recording:

  • Will find someone to record Wind Ensemble at the concert

  • Is going to work on selling Wind Ensemble albums for the Band Booster account to pay for pizza after the parade

Spirit:

  • Reminded Band Council of the need to pay attention to the football game during the game so that it will be easy to know when we are about to play

  • Want the October 19th game to be especially enthusiastic, is working on bringing up the spirit

  • Signs aren’t allowed at games, so Kim will bring flags to Pep Band

Decorations:

  • Still trying to figure out way to put up Band Shares on the wall

  • Going to help Colin replace old pictures with new ones on Friday

President’s Report:

  • Informed Band Council that if they have an agenda item that they want to be added, and won’t see Isaac before the meeting, they can add it to the list on the Whiteboard

  • For the Back-To-School night on Thursday, Amy, Antonia, Kim, Ellen, Isaac, Amelia will be dressed in concert attire

  • Marching Season:  People on Band Council need to be leaders, good role models, do their best, be positive, and not complain

  • There is a Band Booster meeting October 16

  • Need to start working on chamber groups for the auction

Band Booster President:

  • Announced that Band Council will be in charge of selling Band Shares at concerts and the profit will go to buying instruments lockers- Isaac and
    Amelia will sell them at the Fall Concert

  • Seat cushions will be sold at concerts and plays as a new fundraiser- Amy, Katie, and Annie will help sell them at the Fall Concert

  • Kim, Daniel, Colin, and Tim will hand out programs at the Fall Concert

  • Freshman elections are coming up

  • Need to raise money for the future of transportation, Color guard, and Drumline of Pep Band
